Fishing and the outdoors in general has always been a passion for me. From a very young age I remember outings along shores of ponds and creeks around our home. My parents perhaps knew they had a true fishing freak on their hands when I was about the age of 8. It was then they discovered I would sit in a boat for hours on end when other kids had long ago invoked the power of the dreaded "how much longer?" ploy... then I began fooling around with baitcasting rigs and voiced an interest in muskie fishing... Since that time there has been no turning back, from sailfish to panfish, I love it all and I'm always eager to try another type of fishing. But, muskie fishing has always been my passion and after 40 years of casting for these elusive fish it still remains my calling. Muskie fishing is more a "hunt" than "fishing" and while I'm always looking for that new world record I love teaching newcomers to the sport. From how to cast and where to fish to the first muskie boated, I truly enjoy the excitement of my client's first encounters with the "king of freshwater fish", the muskie!

My fascination with musky fishing goes back to my youth spending time in the Three Lakes and Eagle River area. Watching men clad in flannel shirts and wool pants rowing up to the dock with a creature that looked more like an alligator than a fish ignited a fire to chase these magnificent creatures myself. Since those early days I've nutured that passion and turned a hobby into a career. I especially enjoy the thrill of a guest catching their first musky and catch musky fever themselves. Fortunately I get to live this life everyday both as a guide and as a sales associate at the world famous "Rollie & Helen's Musky Shop". I'm happy to answer your fishing questions and look forward to spending time with you on the water.

I was introduced to the outdoors at a young age by my father, uncle and grandfather. At the age of four I used to tag along with my grandfather when he would go muskie fishing. During my high school years I started bass fishing and decided this was the species of fish i really wanted to focus on. Ilove bass fishing! I took up archery at age eleven after getting a bow for Christmas. After high school I started working in a archery shop and really enjoyed it. I spent countless hours in the archery shop working on bows, fletching, arrows, and practice shooting. Today I run a small archery repair shop and am on the field staff for Athens Archery, Broadhead Shed, Buck Addicts and others. I still love to bass fish but come autumn I can be found out in the woods chasing whitetail deer and in the spring chasing turkey. Archery is my life... I eat, sleep and breath it.
